With all of the ways propane can be used commercially, it’s no surprise that commercial propane tanks come in a variety of sizes. What size you will need for your business depends on the type of business and the size of the business you are operating. From providing temporary heat on construction sites to fueling fleets and forklifts, powering restaurants and drying crops, commercial propane uses are versatile and varied. 20 lb. Propane Cylinder

  • The smallest commercial propane tank size we offer, the 20 lb. cylinder, has a 4.6 gallon capacity and is 12” in diameter and 18” high.
  • These are most commonly used to fuel grills, patio heaters, generators and other small outdoor equipment.

33 lb. Propane Tank

  • This commercial propane tank has an 8 gallon capacity and is 12” in diameter and 24” high.
  • This sized tank is primarily used to power propane forklifts and other propane autogas-fueled vehicles.

100 lb. Propane Tank

  • The 100 lb. propane tank holds about 25 gallons of propane. It stands 48” high and is 18” in diameter.
  • It is often used for commercial temporary heat on job sites and can also be used for food trucks.

120 Gallon Cylinder

  • This commercial propane tank holds about 96 gallons of propane and is 54.5” tall and has a 30” diameter.
  • A tank of this size can be used for commercial temporary heating on job sites as well as for dry cleaning, heating smaller spaces and commercial cooking.

250 Gallon Propane Tank

  • When full, this commercial propane tank holds 200 gallons of propane. It is 7’10” long and 30” in diameter.
  • This tank size is usually used for supplemental heating.

500 Gallon Propane Tank

  • A 500 gallon propane tank holds 400 gallons when full. This tank is 9’11” long and 37.5” in diameter.
  • It is commonly used for small commercial heating applications and a variety of agricultural applications.

1,000 Gallon Propane Tank

  • When full, a 1,000-gallon propane tank holds 800 gallons. It is 16’2” long and 41” in diameter.
  • A propane tank of this size is usually specified for commercial or agricultural operations with high volume usage and very high BTU loads. It can also be used for fleet and transportation refueling, as well as large commercial appliances and heating.
