At Superior Plus Propane, we value all of our employees. Their hard work and dedication are the reasons we can successfully handle our customers’ needs.  When an employee goes beyond the duties his or her role requires, we feel that deserves extra recognition. The employee spotlight section of our blog recognizes those employees.

Tony Lampley, Occupational Safety Specialist, NY

Tony began his career in the transportation industry fifteen years ago when he assumed an operations role that consisted mainly of dispatching and route planning at first.  His role grew to include compliance duties that spawned his interest in the safety of employees and customers. He joined Superior Plus Propane eight years ago, and currently works as an Occupational Safety Specialist, as well as heads the Driver Safety Committee.

Personal Interaction and Collaboration with Employees is the Key

Tony’s role as Occupational Safety Specialist at Superior Plus Propane comes with the primary responsibility of making safety every employee’s main focus. Tony and his team accomplish this through employee training, safety programs and initiatives, as well as safety analytics, investigations, and field support.

Additionally, Tony is the head of the Driver Safety Committee, which focuses on implementing the best driver safety practices. Tony and the Driver Safety Committee members collaborated, developed, and implemented the Driver Recognition Program, which uses a fleet management system to recognize drivers who have demonstrated safe driving behaviors and reward them for safely carrying out their work responsibilities.

With the safety of our employees and customers as his primary concern, Tony has a lot of responsibility at Superior Plus Propane.  He finds his job rewarding and thinks that his favorite parts are the “personal interactions and collaboration with employees and customers.” According to Tony, those aspects of his position “allow me to get a better understanding of our business and how to better keep our employees, customers and the public safe.”

Outside the Office

With a serious role at Superior Plus Propane, Tony knows that a healthy work-life balance is important to maintain.  When he’s not in the office, Tony enjoys family time, playing the ukelele and outdoor activities like hiking, snowboarding and spending time on nearby lakes.
